Discovering Gene Clark

As a music lover who's listened to a fair amount in my life, I'm still a bit stunned by some of the great people I missed in the past and have only discovered recently. Bert Jansch is one example. Gene Clark and his post-Byrds career is another. The man was producing consistently excellent music for quite a while, and it's sad he didn't get more attention at the time. His 1974 album No Other may be his masterpiece, though he has a lot of great work. It just feels like everything came together in a new way for him. I love how this one builds so beautifully and with a tremendous sense of the sadness and joy of human existence.
