Other Films

It's interesting for me to see how my lists have changed over the years. I've discovered or explored more fully different directors (Jean-Pierre Melville, Jacques Becker), actors (Gabin, Holden, Stanwyck) and genres (musicals, French film noir and film gris). Films that meant a lot to me at one time just don't resonate as much now. Or, maybe I just haven't seen them in a long time. Here are some films that appeared on my two previous lists.

Lots of good ones. I'd never be able to come up with 100 movies - I'd not remember enough of them :) I'm glad Galaxy Quest made the cut.

Crystal,

You'd be surprised how many you can come up with. My problem was having too many. You should try a list of 50 - I'd be curious to see it.

Yes, Galaxy Quest was a new addition. it was a tough choice - between that and Groundhog Day. If I watch Groundhog Day again, it might change - who knows!

You've been busy.

We watched Masculin/Feminine last weekend, and The Great Escape last night.

Those are two great ones. We saw M/F at Film Forum a couple of summers ago - that was a lot of fun. Good crowd.

And Steve McQueen is Steve McQueen. You should try Bullitt, if you haven't seen it or seen it recently. Then tell me Coppolla didn't rip some of it off for The Godfather.
