8/10 - If you're tired of the usual Christmas movie fare, try Bogey and Peter Ustinov in this black(ish) comedy about three prisoners trying to escape Devil's Island at Christmastime. They start out planning to rob the store of a hapless merchant and wind up getting themselves involved in the man's family crises. The cast also includes Aldo Ray, Leo Carroll, Joan Bennett, and Basil Rathbone. Ustinov is terrific. Directed by Michael Curtiz. Some very funny writing. And just sentimental enough for Christmas.
